The Line-Up

2020 Domaine Landron-Chartier Muscadet Coteaux Du Loire, Loire Valley, France $16.99

The Landron family produces their wines organically, giving them a very strong sense of minerality, raciness and an amazing affinity for food! It's important to consider that the harvest is done exclusively by hand with the help of about sixty harvesters each year. Also, the vinification is done naturally, with natural yeasts. These wines from the Muscadet area are incredibly refreshing with notes of green apple and lemon, slight cheese rind and a slightly salty impression due to their proximity to the Atlantic and very hard rock soils, in this cool region.

2020 Domaine Landron-Chartier "Folle Blanche", Loire Valley , France $16.99

Third-generation winemaker Bernard farms 25 hectares alongside his son Benoît in Ancenis, north-east of Nantes. This part of the Coteaux de la Loire experiences warm days, cooled by proximity to the Atlantic that also helps reduce humidity is this wet area. Folle Blanc is a relatively obscure grape, mostly due to its high fungal susceptibility, and is found in only in limited plantings in this part of the Loire. Expect a tangy white with citrus and brine notes. Mouthwatering!

2019 Lucien Reymond "Silex" Sancerre, Loire Valley France $29.99
This wine displays a surprisingly layered texture. This we’re told, owes at least in part to the full southern exposure of the source vineyards; the wine is not aged in oak, but the lees aging and full ripeness gives the wine beautiful weight on the palate. In the glass, it’s a medium yellow-gold moving to a silvery rim, with aromas that couldn’t possibly be more spot-on: white grapefruit, green melon, peach pit, honeysuckle, and green mango peel balanced by mineral notes of sea salt, herbs, wet stones, and crushed chalk. The way the wine coats the mid-palate then buttons up on the mouth-watering finish had us all smiling broadly—this is spot-on Sancerre in every way, ready to drink now and over the next two years.

2019 Clos Roussely Irreductible Sauvignon Blanc (Amphora), Loire Valley, France $27.99

In 2001, Vincent Roussely became the fourth generation of his family to own the Clos Roussely, a castle in the village of Angé sur Cher in the Loire Valley, that his great-grandfather bought and turned into a winemaking facility in 1917. When he took over, Vincent resumed full control of the vineyards and winemaking space (his grandfather and father had rented out the vineyards and cellar to build a négociant wine company). The estate is located in the best areas of the Touraine and Touraine-Chenonceaux appellations, covering 8 hectares of certified organic vineyards on soils of clay and tuffeau limestone with large flint deposits. Vincent does not use herbicides, pesticides, or chemicals and prides himself on protecting plant and animal diversity within the local ecosystem.

2019 Domaine Jean Fournier Aligote Champ Forey Blanc, Burgundy, France $36.99
 95% Aligote, 5% Melon Blanc
Domaine Jean Fournier dates back to the reign of Louis 13th in the early 17th century, making it one of the oldest properties in Marsannay. Today the Domaine’s 16 hectares are managed by the dynamic young Laurent Fournier, son of Jean, who crafts wines with integrity in a non-interventionist style. He has converted the vineyards to organic agriculture and has been Ecocert certified since 2008.
Unique to the Domaine is a small plot of Aligoté vines that are over 80 years old.  Grapes ferment in barrel for up to three weeks and the wines are then aged for three years in both 25 and 50 hl barrels allowing them plenty of time to flesh out. The result is precise wines of great ageability, weight, and texture.

2019 La Vigne Mouton "Terres De Chazeux" Bougogne Rouge, Burgundy, France $32.99

Forest floor and wild strawberries will hit your nose when you open this wine. The fruits are ripe and steeped in minerality. You can bring this biodynamic crowdpleaser to any family dinner, and everyone will leave very happy.

2019 Domaine Jean Fournier Fixin Rouge, Burgundy, France $53.99

"Rich, intense, precise, juicy, full of fruit and built on a beautiful tannic framework, a village "at the top" quite simply"
As a major player in the Marsannay appellation, Domaine Fournier gives wine lovers the rare opportunity to acquire great Pinots from the northern part of the Côte de Nuits at a reasonable price. With 21 hectares, 17 of which are in Marsannay, this estate produces enthusiastic, deep-coloured, fleshy and intense wines, always on the edge between richness and freshness, delicacy and finesse.
