2021 Famille Hugel Gentil Blanc "Hugel", Alsace, France $17.99
Produced exclusively from hand harvested grapes in predominantly clay and limestone vineyards, from a dozen of the most favored localities in and around Riquewihr. Gentil "Hugel" allies the suave, spicy flavour of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat and the refreshing character of both Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner.
2022 Azul y Garanza Viura 1L, Spain
BLEND | 100% Viura
VINEYARDS | Certified organic and handpicked grapes from vines that are an average age of 18 years old on clay-calcareous at 400 meters.
WINEMAKING | The grapes undergo a 16 day, wild yeast fermentation in concrete tank followed by brief aging in stainless steel until bottling and release.
Galician in style, this crisp white offers light aromatics of pear and citrus. Fun sized in a Liter format, it's perfect to share.
2020 Duport Celine, Bugey, France
2020 - 40% Chardonnay. 40% Gamay, 20% Mondeuse The color here is a deep rhubarb. The nose is a pungent display of wild fruits - blackberry, cherry, and blueberry. On the palate, the wine has flavors of ripe red currants, small plums, and a touch of zingy citrus. A minerally core adds dimension to a fruity, juicy mouthfeel. The wine is fermented naturally, spending 3 weeks in stainless steel tanks.
2022 La Grosse Pierre Chiroubles, Beaujolais, France
Pauline Passot comes from a winemaking family: the Passots have been growers in Chiroubles for years. But it was only after having had a successful career as sommelier at the Michelin-starred restaurant Pierre Orsi in Lyon that she felt the call to make her own wine. She had her first harvest in 2016 and now works 15 acres that she rents from her parents. Her principal holding is the parcel named La Grosse Pierre in Chiroubles. Her wine is classic Chiroubles, elegant and light on its feet yet full of a pretty red fruit character.
2023 Manoir Du Carra Beaujolais Nouveau, Beaujolais, France
The Gamay grapes that go into Beaujolais Nouveau are handpicked, as are all the grapes in the Beaujolais. Beaujolais & Champagne are the only vineyards where hand harvesting is mandatory. Gamay (Gamay noir Jus Blanc) is the only grape permitted for Beaujolais. Beaujolais Nouveau is a cherry-red, fruity, tasty, clean wine that is best served chilled. It is meant to be consumed young.
2022 Pileum Cesanese Del Piglio, Lazio, Itlay
The grape pronounced (Chae-zah-NAE-say) is said to be the preferred grape of the ancient Romans. The Piglio region received its DOCG status in 2008. Many experts say Cesanese has the potential to be one of the great red grapes of Italy. Cesanese grape produces deep rich wines with soft tannins and lifted aromatic profile under the DOC guidelines.
