Winderlea Vineyards Wine Tasting Wednesday, Feb 22nd!  Meet the owners,
Bill Sweat and Donna Morris!

"In the early 90s we fell in love with Pinot noir. Its elegance and sensuality – and the beautiful way it paired with a range of foods delighted us. As we tasted through wines from across the country we found the characteristics we most loved in Oregon Pinot noir.  In 2006 we relocated from Boston and have made Dundee, Oregon our home. "

In 2015, Winderlea received their Demeter Biodynamic® Certification. We are thrilled to be taking this next step in building our sustainable business model.

2019 Winderlea Meredith Mitchell Pinot Blanc, Willamette Valley, Oregon $35.99

The Meredith Mitchell Vineyard Pinot blanc is our unique take on this Alsatian classic. The aromatics show depth and layered complexity. A hint of barrel leads immediately to notes of grapefruit and papaya, with an underlying briny character. The palate has weight without being heavy, gliding from flavors of kiwi fruit to persimmon and nougat. The flavor lingers, the finish is long, and the wine is undeniably striking.

10 months in 44% neutral French oak barrel, 36% clay amphora, and 20% stainless steel

2018 Windelea Chardonnay, WIllamette Valley, Oregon $37.99

Our Chardonnay is fermented in neutral oak and goes through slow, cool malolactic with the goal of retaining the character of the fruit while creating a rich and silky texture.

On the nose, notes of lemon curd, stone fruit, orange blossom and yellow plum abound. The palate shows layers of citrus zest, gardenias, orange cream sorbet, Anjou pears and persimmon. The fruit and flower notes are kept fresh with precise acidity and a mouth watering, crystalline finish.

2020 Winderlea “Bounteous” Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon $25.99

This expressive blend of Pinot noir is made of some of Winderlea’s most prized vineyard designate sites. Bright and lively aromatics of Rainier and Bing cherries combined with earth and baking spice. This wine shows weight on the palate without feeling heavy. Add flavors of dark cherry , plum, black raspberry with hints of earth and cedar to this wine’s plush mouthfeel. While this wine is very approachable in its youth, fine tannins carry notes of cherry and dried herbs on this wine’s lengthy finish.

2018 Winderlea “Dundee Hills” Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon $37.99

An homage to our neighbors and friends, the Dundee Hills Vineyards Pinot noir carries the original name of our estate and is an approachable and drinkable Pinot, focused and full, with firm but integrated tannins. The color is dense and penetrating blackberry, and the aromatics practically burst from the glass. There is ample potential for cellaring but it is so tasty now, it might not last that long.

Vineyard : Weber, Winderlea, & Murto. 10 months in neutral French Oak

2017 Winderlea “Shea Vineyard” Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon $51.99

One of Oregon and the Willamette Valley’s most well-known sites, Shea Vineyard has earned its reputation for consistently high quality Pinot noir. The 2017 Shea opens with aromatics of dusty rose, smoked cherry, and roasted game. A hint of rhubarb transitions to the palate with firm, dry tannins and black tea. Lavender lingers in the background while dried strawberry and coffee ride the lengthy finish of this well-structured wine. Clones: Pommard, Wädenswil, Dijon 777
