Exciting New French Arrivals from Stork Wine Company!

In 2011, Olivier contributed to the creation of a group of small organic and biodynamic producers and was in charge of the export. Jeremy began importing wines from Olivier to California in 2013. The two spent many nights drinking too much wine and singing together off-key while Olivier played acoustic guitar. They baked bread together, shared many meals and like many relationships in the wine business, became much more like family.  We can’t wait to share a bottle or five with you - and we promise you’ll really love our singing!

NV Clos Roussely Favorite Brut, Loire Valley, France $21.99
Vincent Roussely is the fourth-generation winemaker at his family’s beautiful 8-hectare vineyard site in the heart of Chenonceaux, in the village of Angé on the Cher River, in the Loire Valley.  The vineyards have been certified organic since 2007.  He even transitioned vineyard work from machine and horse to doing all everything by hand in order to have the least impact on the soil, vines and grapes which he believes greatly improved the quality of the wines.
This traditional method blanc de blancs is elegant and fresh on the nose and palate.  Light brioche and baked apple on the nose, the palate has refined bubbles and rich toasty almond butter croissant flavours with lemon curd and some baking spice.  Dry with nice persistence on the finish.  Enjoy as an aperitif, with shellfish or a bowl of sea salt chips or buttered popcorn on movie night!

2021 Clos Roussely Petillante Rose, Loire Valley, France $21.99
Cabernet Franc, Pineau d'Aunis
The young Vincent Roussely is the 4th generation of his family to grow grapes and make wines from the limestone-rich soils of Touraine. Upon taking over the estate in 2001, Vincent immediately converted all the vineyards over to organics, and today, the estate's wines are better than ever.

The winery's Pet-Nat is a blend of equal parts Pineau d'Aunis and Cabernet Franc that is an absolute joy to drink, Dry, crisp, and chuggable, it bursts with notes of tart cherry, watermelon, citrus, and mineral.

2022 Lucien Reymond Sancerre "Silex", Loire Valley, France $35.99
Sancerre and summertime are an unmatched pair. Winemaker Olivier Richard named his estate after his grandfather, who always wanted to produce a beautiful expression of Sancerre. From Loire Valley, this 100% Sauvignon Blanc is biodynamically farmed and gives way to crisp minerality, lemon, white peach, and honeysuckle. This pairs beautifully with ceviche or shrimp scampi.

2022 Clos Roussely Orange, Loire Valley, France $21.99
This is made of Sauvignon Blanc that spent a little over three weeks on its skins. The nose is classic skin contact white wine with aromas of orange peel, apricot, and just there citrus pith. The palate has white wine tannin for sure but well balanced by good acidity and flavors of candied orange peel, yellow fleshed stone fruits and clay minerality. D&M Tasting Notes

2022 Jouves & Croisille `pur Jus` Orange, Cahors, France $21.99
This is the project of longtime friend Fabien Jouves and Germain Croisille and his brother Simon. They go against the rules and have fun playing around, while making some amazing natural wines.

30% Gros Manseng, 30% Colombard, 30% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Muscat d'Alexandire. 3 months on skins.

2021 Clos Roussely Tourainte Canelle Rouge (Gamay), Loire Valley, France $16.99

‘Canaille’ is 100% gamay from hand harvested grapes, fermented in whole bunches in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Bottling is done with minimal sulfur, and without fining or filtration. This lighter-bodied cuvée is spicy and refreshingly expressive, with aromas of dark berries, rose petals, and crushed herbs. Tart red cranberry and pomegranate flavors dart across the palate, accompanied by vibrant acidity and a flourish of pink peppercorn and cinnamon on the finish. Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.

2021 Domaine Jean Fournier Bourgogne Rouge, Burgundy, France $36.99
Marsannay, the Côte de Nuit’s northernmost winegrowing region, was overlooked when the Institut National des Appellations d’Origine (INAO) originally delimited AOCs in the 1930s. The region finally received its appellation in 1987, giving the recognition the growers felt their rocky limestone and marl terroirs deserved. Marsannay is unique in Burgundy for having AOC status for red, white, and rosé wines. Domaine Jean Fournier dates back to the reign of Louis 13th in the early 17th century, making it one of the oldest properties in Marsannay. Today the Domaine’s 16 hectares are helmed by the dynamic young Laurent Fournier, son of Jean, who crafts wines with integrity in a non-interventionist style. He has converted the vineyards to organic agriculture and has been Ecocert certified since 2008. Old vines can be found throughout the Domaine, contributing to the immense purity and finesse Fournier’s wines are known for.
