2020 Bichot Horizon De Bichot Chardonnay, Limoux, France $16.99
As early as 1831, Albert Bichot, a visionary and an explorer, travelled the world to introduce his great Burgundies to wine lovers. To perpetuate this PIONEERING spirit, we set out in search of new HORIZONS
Our quest was to discover exceptional TERROIRS in FRANCE that our EXPERTISE could take to new heights. This led us to Limoux in the south, a terroir that we chose for its unique diversity: four different yet complementary CLIMATES that offer subtle, well-balanced wines.
Starts off with notes of white flowers and citrus zest that awaken the senses that are further enhanced by hints of vineyard peach and hazelnut. Flavours of fresh almonds and grapefruit are complemented by nuances of lily and vanilla on the finish. Energy and vivacity balance this rich wine that is reminiscent of the sea.
2021 Bichot Bourgogne Aligote Champ Renard, Burgundy, France $30.99
The "Champ Renard" vineyard of Domaine Adélie is located at the entrance of the village of Mercurey. In terms of wine, it is worked according to the same spirit and the same traditional methods as the Chardonnay vines. Bourgogne Aligoté is an appellation produced throughout Burgundy and found mainly in the vineyards of Auxerrois, Côte Chalonnaise and Hautes Côtes de Beaune and Nuits.
The Aligoté grape from Champ Renard gives the sensation of a wine with a modest approach, but which provides freshness and roundness through its aging. It reveals notes of white flowers and dried fruits, with a nice consistency in the mouth.
It accompanies simply prepared fish and seafood. Also great as an aperitif.
2021 Bichot Horizon De Bichot, Limoux, France $16.99
Deep cherry red color. Black fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant) combined with sour cherry and raspberry on the nose. Cherry flavors evolve toward peppery, mentholated notes. A hint of cedar rounds out the fruitiness. Silky texture with impressive length. Complex and fresh.
2021 Bichot Bourgogne Passetoutgrain, Burgundy, France $30.99
Pinot Noir provides elegance and finesse while Gamay – hailing from granitic or limestone terroirs – lends roundness and fullness. We select plots located in both the Côte d’Or and northern Saône-et-Loire regions for this wine.
TASTING
The nose is dominated by fruity notes (raspberry, wild strawberry) with more discreet hints of fresh exotic fruit. The palate is supple with a great deal of finesse and harmony. Fresh finish with notes of light tobacco.
2021 Bichot Brouilly `roche Rose`, Beaujolais, France $36.99
Located in the southern Beaujolais, Brouilly is one of the most well-known and geographically widespread vineyards in the region. The vines here flourish on a steep slope composed of various types of soil and rock, but which are predominantly pink granite ("gohr") based.
TASTING
This Brouilly Roche Rose is redolent of subtle aromas of wild cherry, blackcurrant, and blackberry with a hint of spice. The palate is refreshing and fleshy with supple, well-integrated tannins. The finish is refreshing with lasting fruitiness.
2021 Bichot Fleurie `la Madone`, Beaujolais, France $36.99
Located at the northern edge of the Rhône department, bordering the Saône-et-Loire department, the Fleurie appellation is surrounded by Moulin-à-Vent to the north, Morgon to the south and Chiroubles to the west. Also known as "Queen of Beaujolais", Fleurie's wines are considered to be the most "feminine" of the Beaujolais appellation. Our vineyard plot lies at the foot of the historical chapel of the Madonna on the Montagne de Fleurie, after which the appellation was named. It is the one of the most renowned wines in the Beaujolais.
TASTING
The nose is floral and fruity, with scents of iris, carnation and raspberry along with a touch of nutmeg and discreet minerality. The palate is full and fleshy, fruity and precise boasting overall harmonious balance. The finish is long and flavorful with the same fruitiness as perceived on the nose.
