2020 Kuentz-Bas Alsace Blanc, Alsace, France $15.99
This absolute treat from Alsace is a touch peachy, a whiff floral, and irresistibly refreshing. Vinified the old-fashioned way in giant foudres, the delightful blanc blends almost every grape in the village, though none seeks to dominate. The medley includes varieties like Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Chasselas, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, and Muscat, giving us a harmonious bouquet of aromas for both the nose and the palate to enjoy. This alluringly quaffable wine will remind you that springtime is just around the bend.

2021 Etienne Simonis Pinot Blanc Vieilles Vignes, Alsace, France $30.99
Located in the small town of Ammerschwihr, in the Vosges foothills and the heart of the Alsace wine region, The Simonis family has been cultivating vines since the 17th century. The winery is run by Etienne Simonis, who took over the family's vineyard from her father René back in 1996. Etienne Simonis has collected 7 hectares of vineyards, which are primarily located at Ammerschwihr, but in addition he also has some vineyards at Bennwihr, Kaysersberg and Sigolsheim. Right from the start, Etienne has been very determined about how he would run the vineyard, so he started by converting production to organic farming, which has subsequently been supplemented with a biodynamic approach, both certified.  From the Importer Jeffery Alpert.

2020 Les Grangeons De L`Albarine Le Grangeon De Mano Chardonnay, Bugey, France $42.99
Bugey is seeing the emergence of a new generation of talented winegrowers. Luc Bauer is one of them. His vines are in lost valleys, on stony soils, worked very naturally. His wines are of great purity, without any input, except sometimes a minimal dose of sulphite. This pure Chardonnay from 15-year-old vines located on a very sloping plot, vinified and aged in stoneware jars, demi-muids and Burgundian pieces, before blending and six months in vat before bottling. Beautiful finesse and intensity, balanced, it is a beautiful, racy Chardonnay...
Grape: Chardonnay on rocky limestone soil over grey marl
Notes: Organic/biodynamic viticulture, hand harvest. Elevage in sandstone amphora for 12 months. No fining or filtration, minimal addition of So2.  From the Importer Jeffery Alpert

2022 Clos Coutale Malbec Rose, Cahors, France $14.99
With its gorgeous strawberry hue, Clos La Coutale’s Malbec-based rosé is an immensely impressive first bottling that deserves a place on your table. It evokes bright and juicy red berries, a touch of spice, and the faintest hint of mouthwatering salinity, making for an extroverted, medium-bodied, and flat-out delicious pink wine.

2021 Alex Foillard Brouilly, Beaujolais, France $43.99
Perhaps you’ve heard of the ‘Gang of Four?’ It was a nickname lovingly bestowed to the most noteworthy winemakers of Cru Beaujolais—Jean Foillard, Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet, and Guy Breton. Enter Alex Foillard—son of Jean Foillard—who now runs his own show in the world of Beaujolais. His exposure to wine and all things Beaujolais came to him at a young age. He took on early interest, intent on carrying on his father’s trailblazing ways. While his father worked with vines in Fleurie and Morgon, Alex farms from both Brouilly and Côte-de-Brouilly. Beginning at just 24 years old, he has taken a page from his father’s finesse for winemaking, working organically and naturally.
This Brouilly comes from 50 year old vines planted in granite soil and the wine is whole-cluster fermentated with natural yeasts, no fining or filtration.

2022 Domaine Didon Coteaux Bourguignons Pinot Noir, Burgundy, France $51.99
David and Naïma Didon have settled in an old farm in Chassey-le-Camp in the Côte Chalonnaise, where they cultivate just under two hectares of vineyards next to forests and completely free of surrounding vineyards and being concerned about the possible bad habits of their neighbours. This is an obvious advantage for Domaine Didon that are determined biodynamicists and do not compromise when it comes to their methods of cultivation.

Spontaneous fermentation, whole clusters, no additions at all, no fining or filtration and no use of new casks are just some of the parameters that help to create a small array of wines that are bright, refreshing and always vibrating with energy. Domaine Didon’s wines are of an incredibly high quality despite the modest appellation the wines carry on their labels.
