Introducing the Spectacular Wines of Bow & Arrow!
COOL CLIMATE WINES GROWN EXCLUSIVELY IN THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY
PRODUCED & BOTTLED IN PORTLAND, OREGON

Bow & Arrow is a full fledged, subterranean winery located in Northeast Portland. I source my fruit from a small group of reliably outstanding farmers who were willing to take a risk grafting or planting the varieties we needed and to farm them in a way that was aligned with my beliefs. While there is no one “house style”, I embrace a principal of drinkability and low-intervention; a humble word that embodies the spirit of wine drinking we celebrate.

2022 Bow and Arrow `Time Machine` Blanc, Oregon $23.99
Aromas of fall fruits-apple and pear skins, a whisper of baking spice on the nose. Translucent gold appearance. It has the body of your favorite aged Muscadet but smells more like Tourraine and tastes like Oregon. This iteration is all 2022 fruit composed of Melon, Pinot Gris, Chenin, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, in that order of percentage, from several of our vineyard sources across the valley. Combination of stainless steel, barrel, puncheon and even an egg. One year elevage for all varieties. Each were vinified according to their own unique desires and separate from one another.

2022 Bow and Arrow `Fool`s Gold', Willamette Valley, Oregon $33.99
50% Chardonnay/50% Sauvignon Blanc

A magical blend of Willamette Valley Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, Bow & Arrow’s “Fool’s Gold” is guaranteed to blow you away. Rich and wild, layered with spiced stone fruit.
Pairs well with Goat cheese and Feta. With notes of fresh-picked peach, Honeycrisp apple, acacia flowers, pear, mango beeswax, and lemon.
After experimenting in 2019 with making a Cheverny Blanc style Chard/Sauv Blanc blend and having it exceed all expectations I am happy (relieved?!) to announce I went all in and made much more!

2022 Bow and Arrow Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon $27.99
This joyful little bottle is sourced from various sites in the Willamette Valley and is made with carbonic maceration, resulting in a wildly aromatic wine with plenty of tart super crunchy red fruits. Made with minimal intervention, this is pure Oregon "glou glou" at its finest.

From Scott: The style I have been pursuing came into clearer focus the past year as I have become more and more charmed by the fresher, youthful expressions of Pinot coming out of Burgundy from the "next gen" of young producers.  There's more whole cluster and red fruit character for sure.

The wine's primarily a blend of Arbre Vert in the Chehalem Mtns, Johan in the Van Duzer (I can't say "corridor" yet... what is it, an industrial park?) and Hughes Hollow in the South Salem Hills.

2023 Division-Villages Pinot Noir "Methode Carbonique", Willamette Valley, Oregon $27.99
The Willamette Valley is typically one of the coolest and wettest major wine growing regions in the U.S, which clearly favors the delicate, but seemingly boundless potential of the Pinot Noir grape, a variety that seems to show its best on the fringes of suitable grape farming area.

This is their fourth year with the Cassin Vineyard, located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA at the far western edges near the coastal range—a location that is truly cool climate and was our last site to be picked again. They are really falling for this site that produces elegant wines with a distinct red berry
characteristic. Not too far away is Methven Family Vineyards, set in eastern flanks of the northern Eola-Amity Hills AVA, a vineyard that has provided significant portions of the “Méthode Carbonique” Pinot since we first vintage of the bottling 2012. The Methven vines were planted in 2001 on soils
formed from volcanic remnants, a clay and broken rock soil locally called Nekia, and marine sedimentary overlay against basalt bedrock. They are very excited to announce the transition this past year of both of these vineyards to organic principle farming, including the cessation of systemic herbicides.

2021 Bow and Arrow `Air Guitar` Cab/Cab Franc, Oregon $33.99
Like Rhinestones, the name Air Guitar is a self deprecating poke at attempting French style wines in America.  The “least likely to exist” of all of our Willamette Valley sourced wines, this is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from Borgo Pass Vineyard and Cabernet Franc from Johan Vineyard.  Don’t let the playful nature of the wine’s label fool you -this is our most profound expression of red wine from this region and the one that rewards the most patience.  Aged 10 to 12 months in puncheon.
