2023 Domaine Riffault “Contem a Batis” Sancerre, Loire Valley, France $27.99
Crafted by the Riffaults—one of the great names of Sancerre, up there with the Vacheron and Crochet clans—this electrifying white wine is eked out from 20 tiny parcels in the smallest hamlet in the appellation, Chaudoux. It’s a beautifully expressive and precise Sancerre that sommeliers on both sides of the Atlantic regularly vie for and hoard.

2022 Chateau Haut-Vigneau Pessac-Legnan Bordeaux Blanc, Bordeaux, France $28.99
Owned and managed by Eric Perrin, the owner of Graves classified growth Chateau Carbonnieux, this wine shows the ripeness of the whites in the vintage. The nose is open and expressive with aromas of mango and tropical fruits on the first nose. This is followed by notes of grapefruit and white peach. In the mouth, the attack is quite lively which leads to a nice freshness. There is a beautiful aromatic richness with dominant notes of passion fruit, pineapple and mango. Good length with citrus notes.

2022 Olivier Leflaive "Les Sétilles" Bourgogne Blanc, Burgundy, France $51.99
The soil is quite rich in colluvium and small pebbles. The wine comes from a blend of around sixty selected plots located both in the village of Puligny-Montrachet and also in Meursault. Three plots of the Côte Chalonnaise and ten in the Hautes Côte de Beaune complete the supplies.
100% Chardonnay, 50% crushed grapes and 50% whole grapes
Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in oak barrels, 14 months (whose 5 months in stainless steel tank)
90% in oak barrels (whose 10% of new oak) and 10% in stainless steel vats
Les Sétilles is a seductive and accessible wine, revealing a nose with pleasant honeyed notes and white-fleshed fruits. Its freshness is accompanied by a delicate feel on the palate, and the finish is expressive with chalky nuances.

Food pairings
Ideal with a fillet of swordfish marinated in lime, fried calamari or a hot or cold Brie.

2022 Stephane Aviron Beaujolais-Villages, Beaujolais, France $16.99
The Stéphane Aviron Beaujolais Villages is sourced from two of the best terroirs of the appellation, both with old vines averaging at least 50 years in age. The vines in the commune of Quincié have sandy, granite soils and the commune of Lantignié has clay and limestone soils with favorable southwest exposure.

Vinification: Whole clusters of grapes are fermented, and then macerated for six days to extract characters of fruit and finesse. The wine is aged in cement tanks to retain the purity of the fresh fruit. The wine shows great finesse, elegance and a very “easy drinking” nature.

2022 Marchesi Di Barolo, Langhe Nebbiolo "Sbirolo", Piedmont, Italy $25.99
The name of this wine, Sbirolo, which means someone with an extroverted personality in the local dialect, describes the wine perfectly.  A more succinct translation is “rascal.”  This Sbirolo is expressive and in-your-face in a very nice way.  By law, Langhe Nebbiolo must be made entirely from that grape and so at first glance you’d think the notorious Nebbiolo tannins would make it astringent.  Not so.  The tannins are hardly noticeably — just enough to provide needed balance — amidst the lively succulent fruitiness.  Brilliant acidity keeps it fresh.  This is a great introduction to the charm of Nebbiolo — a Nebbiolo on training wheels — and would be ideal for any hearty tomato-based pasta or grilled meats.

2019 Chateau Langlet Graves, Bordeaux, France $23.99
An impressive dark garnet red color that says ohh la la. Deep, earthy, dark blackberry, currant, cherry, toasty spice, sage and eucalyptus. Dry tannins surround a silky black berry infused palate with licorice, cocoa and spice. This wine would love to accompany a Saturday night prime rib, porterhouse or lamb shank. It's a wine built for the dining table to enjoy to its fullest potential.-
