Becky Wasserman & Co. was founded in 1979 by Becky Wasserman-Hone, an American expatriate who has lived in Burgundy since 1968. Our company exports wines from small domaines and shippers in Burgundy and other regions who honor their terroirs.
Wine is more than a commodity to us. We have gone through many highs and lows and none of us would be working here if we didn't believe that wine eases and embellishes peoples' lives.

The Wines

2023 Domaine Paul Prieur Pet Nat Rosé "Bulles De Pinot", Vin de France, France $41.99
A joyful and delicately sparkling rosé crafted in the ancestral method, “Bulles De Pinot” captures Pinot Noir’s bright red fruit in its most playful form. Fragrant aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, and rose petals lead into a lively palate bursting with crunchy red berries and a hint of citrus zest. Light-bodied with soft, frothy bubbles, vibrant acidity, and a dry, refreshing finish, it’s both charming and effortlessly drinkable.

Produced under the broad designation of Vin de France, this pétillant naturel is made entirely from Pinot Noir grown by Domaine Paul Prieur in the Loire Valley. The fruit is harvested early to preserve natural acidity and freshness—essential for balance in naturally sparkling wines.

Crafted using the ancestral method (méthode ancestrale), fermentation begins in tank and finishes in bottle without dosage, trapping natural carbon dioxide to create gentle, cloudy bubbles. The 2023 vintage highlights bright red currant, cranberry, and subtle herbal nuances, underscored by crisp minerality and a bone-dry profile.

Minimal intervention in the cellar ensures transparency of fruit and terroir. No filtration and limited sulfur allow the wine’s vibrant personality to shine through.

2023 Jean-Babtiste Boudier Savigny-Les-Beane, Burgundy, France $56.99
Savigny-lès-Beaune reveals a seductive aromatic range of ripe red fruits and spices. On the palate, it stands out for its roundness and generous volume, offering a perfectly balanced taste experience. The silky, elegant tannins give this wine remarkable harmony and finesse.
Harvested by hand; bunches transported in crates. Double sorting of grapes: in the vineyard and on the sorting table.
Vatting: infusion for 10 to 14 days with part of the grapes in whole bunches. Fermented with yeasts indigenous to the terroir,  Aged in French oak barrels, 15% to 25% of which are new, for 11 to 16 months. No fining, light filtration if necessary, depending on turbidity.

Appellation:Savigny-lès-Beaune
Specific area: Les Peuillets (66%) / Ez Connardises (33%) "Peuillets" comes from "puelle" or "peule" meaning young wood; a young wood must have been planted in this climat before vines were cultivated. "Ez Connardises" comes from the French word for duck, "Canard", a name that recalls the ancient presence of wild ducks in this part of the Côte.

2022 Domaine Petit-Roy Bourgogne "Les Lormes"  Rouge, Burgundy, France $59.99
Grown in Pommard on humid, clay-heavy soils, Les Lormes is distinctly textured and structured. Unlike Petit-Roy's usual whole-cluster approach, this Pinot Noir is fully destemmed and gently handled, undergoing semi-carbonic maceration to bring out supple red fruit and soft floral aromas. Silky and generous on the palate, with dark cherry fruit, gentle spice, and plush tannins. A beautifully rounded wine, revealing Seiichi Saito's sensitive touch and commitment to purity.  Elevage: 12 months in wood, 5 months in stainless steel

2024 Agnes Paquet Hautes Cotes de Beaune, Burgundy, France $47.99
Vinification: 100% whole cluster, 2-3-week fermentation in concrete tanks, foot punch-downs, aged for 10-12 months in used barrels, blended and aged for an additional 2 months in tank.  Variety: Pinot Noir
Vine Age: Planted in 2016
Terroir: Meloisey, Hautes Côtes de Beaune, shallow red clay soil, limestone bedrock.
Viticulture: Organic (Ecocert, 2022)

There’s nothing average about Agnès Paquet. With finesse driven elegance and gentleness, far off from the regions more powerful style, she’s the top tier vigneronne elbowing a bright expression mark from ‘lesser’ appellations within Burgundy.

Situated in the peaceful village of Meloisey, away from hype of the ‘Côte’, Agnès’s work reflects the traditionally humble culture of the Haute Côtes winemakers. Farming vineyards situated in, previously considered, secondary appellations might once have been a burden, today counted a bonus. It’s areas with equally great diversity of terroirs as the rest of Côte de Beaune. With changing climate and improved viticultural skills these spots are definitely counted as the ‘new’ source of classic styled Burgundy. It’s might just not be in hands of public knowledge yet.

Her wines are vivacious with a strong core of quality fruit and purity. They are never showy or extracted, rather a great definition of how to revitalizing Burgundy with unique DNA and exquisite refinement.

One can’t say that Bordeaux and its neighboring appellations have been at the forefront of the organic and biodynamic movements. Furthermore, for more than two decades, the region was hanging on to a recipe that may have been successful (ripe, heavily new-oaked, technological wines) but that many wine aficionados no longer find to their taste. Consequently, Bordeaux and friends are scarce on the wine lists of most of the hot new bistros, where you will find two dozen Gamays and Poulsards before you spot a Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot, if you spot any at all. For a region that once dominated French wine sales, it is a spectacular fall from grace.

But things are definitely changing, with domaines like Les Carmels: certified organic, practicing biodynamic, affordable, and made in a softly-extracted, no new oak, very low sulfur, and beautifully quaffable style. The domaine is located in Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux.
