The Line-Up

NV Vincent Couche "Eclipsia" Champagne, France $49.99
“Utilizing a brilliant blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, longtime biodynamic champion Vincent Couche has finally released his Eclipsia onto American soils. This is a breathtakingly pure and nuanced debut that must be experienced by Champagne’s most fervent supporters.” Ian Cauble, Master Sommelier

This is a pulse-quickening, deeply layered, soul-stirringly pure Champagne that wears its Certified Biodynamic badge with pride. A heavy blend of Pinot Noir from the 2017 vintage with a healthy dose of Chardonnay from the famous satellite village of Montgueux, this resoundingly pure and impressively nuanced Champagne is akin to a child prodigy. It was Vincent Couche’s mother who inspired his passion for vineyard work, especially when it came to maintaining a natural, chemical-free ecosystem. As such, he has spent every waking hour over the past two decades ensuring his wines are free of additives. Because he refuses unnatural methods at every step of the process—from eschewing “-cides” to banning chaptalization or sulfur during fermentation to only using gravity to move the wine—Vincent Couche is leading the charge in both the organic and grower Champagne movements.

2020 Lucien Reymond Sancerre, Loire Valley, France $24.99
The grapes are sourced from biodynamic farms from the three distinct soils of Sancerre. The grapes are then aged in tanks for 12 months sur-lie providing weight texture and an overall complexity.  None of the bright mineralality is compromised by this, instead, it provides a platform for the tropical qualities to shine.  Pear, green apple, green melon and stony minerality deliver a classic Sancerre, which in typical form, overdelivers.

2019 Domaine Courtault-Michelet Chablis, Burgundy, France $25.99
Michelet Courtaullt Chablis AOC is made from 100% Chardonnay, machine harvested at full maturity ; pneumatic press; fermentation in temperature controlledstainless steel tanks for 8-10 days; M.L (2 months after the harvest); aging on the lees until February; racking; fining if necessary; cold stabilization; filtration right before bottling in April.
Golden color. Very aromatic. White flowers, fresh fruit, lime, citrus aromas as well as a bergamot. Pleasant mouthfeel, supple, crisp, fruity flavors. There is a touch of acidity, revealing a deliciously integrated minerality.

2020 Manoir Tete Rouge Saumur Blanc, Loire Valley, France $21.99
A Chenin Blanc you can revel at tonight. This is a white wine that's fuller in texture, honeyed yet dry and a wonder with a mushroom quiche. The grapes were hand-harvested and no additional sulphur was added to this wine. Biodynamic.

2020 Domaine Jean Fournier Bourgogne Rouge, Burgundy, France $29.99
Domaine Jean Fournier is seen as one of the best producers of Marsannay and winemaker Laurent Fournier is certainly at the forefront of elevating Marsannay as a wine and as a community.

The estate's Bourgogne Rouge is produced from certified organic vines ranging in age from 10 to 50 years, including some vines within the Marsannay AOC supplemented with those just outside of the appellation. Pure and finessed, this is a lovely, red fruited Burgundy that will appeal to novices and seasoned cork dorks as well.

2019 Domaine Jean Fournier "Clos Du Roy" Marsannay Rouge, Burgundy, France $49.99

Average 1955 (three plots of 40, 50, and 70 year old vines) Seductive red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy and quite compact, silky smooth in texture with a mélange of red/blue fruit laced with white pepper on the finish.

Domaine Jean Fournier dates back to the reign of Louis 13th in the early 17th century, making it one of the oldest properties in Marsannay. Today the Domaine’s 16 hectares are managed by the dynamic young Laurent Fournier, son of Jean, who crafts wines with integrity in a non-interventionist style. He has converted the vineyards to organic agriculture and has been Ecocert certified since 2008. Old vines can be found throughout his vineyards, contributing to the immense purity and finesse Fournier’s wines are known for.
