The Line-Up

2020 Alain De La Treille Touraine Sauvignon Blanc, Loire Valley, France $16.99
Sauvignon Blanc from the Touraine AOP; the great passion of Alain de la Treille. This wine is crisp and refreshing, with rich, ripe lime and grapefruit aromas. Great elegance with a mineral style.

A blend of juice from direct press and juice that spent 12 hours with skin contact maceration. Aged on the lees for 6 months; slightly filtered before bottling.  Ideal for the Aperitif, any cooked fish such as smoked and grilled salmon but also obviously with a Goat Cheese.

2018 Era Grillo, Terre Siciliane, Sicily $16.99
The bouquet is fresh and floral. On the palate there are some lovely citrus and tropical fruit flavors, with a refreshing acidity.

After a 12-hour skin maceration to obtain enhanced aromas, the wine is fermented in stainless steel. The finished wine is placed in stainless steel tanks until bottled. Aged 3-4 months in stainless steel and three months in bottle.

2020 Pierinvaletta Arneis, Piedmont, Italy $19.99
Produced from one of the highest plots in the area, at over 500 meters above sea level. Fresh, fruity, mineral - a very fragrant wine.

The PierinValetta brand is produced by Azienda Agricola Rivetti Massimo. Founded in 2000, the winery is located in the city of Neive, in the Piedmont region.

PierinValetta is a tribute to Pierin Valetta, the family’s ancestor who planted the vines 75 years ago. He was born in 1910, and he had a passion for viticulture from a very young age. His passion and dedication to the Piedmont region lives on in today’s 4th & 5th generations, Massimo Rivetti & his three sons.

2020 Pierinvaletta Rosato, Piedmont, Italy $18.99
100% Pinot Noir Average 40 years (oldest vines are 70 years old). Fresh and pure fruited with a vibrant mineral core.

2020 Alain de la Treille Chinon, Loire Valley, France $22.99
Cabernet Franc.  This Chinon, with its bright intense purple color, offers complex and mineral aromas and finally red fruits scents like blackcurrant and blueberry. The palate is juicy & spicy.

"Noël Bougrier and his son, Nicolas, manage this expansive estate of 247 acres across the Loire Valley. Lionel Métaireau makes the wines, including this textbook cabernet franc. The violet color might catch your eye before you even smell the slightly herbal, red-fruited aromas. “Chinon is like Bordeaux light,” one taster said, describing how the flavors dance from plum skin to cassis, to game, earth and tobacco, all with a delicacy that speaks of the village’s cool conditions."

2016 Trois Moulins Haut Medoc Cru Bourgeois, Bordeaux, France $26.99
(Chateau Cambon la Pelouse)

45% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc
A flour mill just nearby explains the origin of this cru bourgeois' name, which means "three mills". Already in its day, it attracted English and Dutch connoisseurs. History continues for this ruby-colored, subtle wine with its elegant bouquet of jammy red fruits. It is subtle and very round on the palate and has a long powerful finish.
"This offers some herbal notes with an array of red fruit and bell peppers. The palate has quite a taut build of fine tannins and delivers a sturdy, fine but firm texture at the finish."
- James Suckling (February 2019), 92 pts

Cambon la Pelouse is located in Macau, between Chateau Giscours and Chateau Cantemerle, just outside the Margaux appellation. The estate is rich in history, changing hands many times over the past few centuries.

2015 Chateau Cambon La Pelouse Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois, Bordeaux, France $33.99
92 points Wine Enthusiast
Close to some of the top Margaux vineyards, this estate regularly produces some fine wines. This bottling is beautifully structured, firm with tannins and also generous with black fruits. A high percentage of Merlot gives a particularly ripe and juicy wine that will age over the medium-term.

Big black fruits and a ton of ripe tannins make this a dramatic wine that would be hard not to like. The balance is really good and that makes it delicious right now.

90 points Jeb Dunnuck
Another little gem Cru Bourgeois is the 2015 Château Cambon La Pelouse which comes from close to equal amounts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with roughly 4% Petit Verdot. It offers a darker edge in its blackcurrant, underbrush, tobacco and earthy aromatics, is medium-bodied, beautifully concentrated, and has building tannin. It's absolutely worth seeking out and will drink nicely for a decade or more.
