Selection Massale Wine Tasting with special Importer Guest, Jonathan Gray!

Call 256-964-7980 to Reserve

Our goal at Selection Massale is to import the best natural wines, period. We do not work in every region or try to fulfill every need, but rather bring what we believe to be the most exciting, precise, well-made natural wines available. Our selections come from small wineries. Our vignerons work the land organically for the most part, biodynamically for some. All the wines are fermented naturally and made without cellar trickery or makeup. We favor clean, highly drinkable wines.

Fresh & fabulous with a palate that boasts plenty of plum, black pepper & a tart, bright cranberry crunch - begs for a chill.

2018 Marie Thibault Les Grandes Vignes Rouge, Azay-le-Rideau, T $33.99
Grapes: Gamay
Soil: Silex
‘Les Grandes Vignes’ is named for a specific parcel of old vines. Very textured and deep, with a ravishing smokiness backed by earthy red-berried smells and flavors. No need to chill this one; just serve with a simple meal and enjoy on a rainy day/eve or just at the beginning of a summer sunset with a barbecue going.

2021 Marie Thibault Premier Nez Chenin Blanc, Loire Valley, France $39.99
Premier Nez’ is dry and mineral driven, from 40 year old vines. Complex and spiced with dried citrus, aniseed, pine resin, walnut, and yellow pear. A real powerhouse that would drink well with anything creamy or braised.
Marie has one contiguous parcel on a gentle, windy slope that is drier than the other vineyards of Azay-le-Rideau, which lie on a plateau. Her vineyard is marked by white clay and limestone. She immediately began to farm organically in 2011 and 2014 was her first certified vintage.

2021 The Perfect Red Cabernet Sauvignon, California $32.99
90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon rosé, all from Solano County in CA. Broc made rosé from the same Cabernet vines from Wirth Ranch to add to this wine, making more of a lighter Claret style. The grapes for the rosé were foot-stomped and left on the skins for 24 hours, then pressed into stainless steel. Medium-bodied with chewy red fruits and soft herbal notes. It’s fresh and bright, with lively acidity and low tannins. No sulfur added at any point. Definitely don't serve this wine warm, it's meant to have a chill and to refresh one who is eating hearty curries or hot dogs on the grill.
