2022 Pileum Cesanese del Piglio, Lazio, Italy $18.99
100% Cesanese di Affile

A distinct wine marked by red fruits like pomegranate and cherry, floral spice, juniper, forest floor and cured meat. The pallet is lively with acidity and tannin, balanced by a fruit concentration and freshness that makes this wine and region stand out strong.

The Pileum winery was started by four friends in 2002 whose vision was to create the best wines of Lazio region – a place their families had called home for multiple generations. From day one, the utmost care has been placed in growing only the Cesanese di Affile grape for the reds, utilizing old vines, planting the right clones, and pursuing a natural approach with spontaneous fermentation, minimal sulfites, and organic practices in the vineyard.  Cesanese is the wine of Rome and its people.

2022 Pileum "Valle Bianca" Passerina del Frusinate, Lazio, Italy $23.99
100% Passerina
Marked by elegant aromatics of flowers and ripe fruits, the palate is lush and silky with a medium/full body and a delicate but lingering finish. The passerine grape is found in the regions of: Marche, Abruzzo, and Lazio.

2023 Demarie Roero Arneis, Piedmont, Italy $25.99
In traditional local culture, the name Arneis is given to someone who is an extrovert, a bit of a rebel, original but with a certain charm.  For this reason we are proud to present this fine white wine from the Roero hills, as it shows all the excellent qualities of its name.  The sandy terroir provides this wine with a full intense aroma, and the limestone and clay, its strong body and structure.  One of the great white wines of Piedmont, Arneis is the result of a lucky rediscovery, due to the intuition, headstrong passion, and the business capacity of the winegrowers of the Roero region.

SCENT IN PERFUME: full-bodied, robust and intense, composite and delicate. Floral as well as fruity nuances of broom, camomile, peach and apricot
FLAVOUR: dry, palatable and pleasantly harmonic. Fresh and persistent with a slightly almond aftertaste

2021 Burlotto Pelaverga Verduno, Piedmont, Italy $39.99
The 2021 Pelaverga Verduno is classy and elegant to the core. Crushed red berry fruit, sweet floral notes and a kick of citrus are all laced together. Burlotto's silky, polished Pelaverga is about as good as it gets for this quirky variety. Aging in steel helped preserve quite a bit of freshness.

Burlotto was founded in the eighteenth century by Giovan Battista Burlotto in Verduno, and continues to be family-operated today. BG.B.'s descendent, Gabriella took another transformative step for the estate in 1972 when she planted a large portion of her Massara vineyard to the Pelaverga grape, and before long produced some of the first single-varietal Pelaverga bottlings ever made. Consider it the Cru Beaujolais of Italy, as the Crus of Beaujolais only recently shook the wine world into realizing the tremendous potential of the Gamay grape, leaving it to no longer be an afterthought to Burgundy's Pinot Noir. Pelaverga is wildly complex, without the twenty-plus years' aging necessity that the Barolo price tag comes with.

2022 Santa Caterina "Arlandino" Grignolino d'Asti, Piedmont, Italy $23.99
Arlandino is the ancient name of Grignolino. Arlandino comes from the vineyard of Mossetti Farms in Grazzano Badoglio and from Moncalvo vineyards, land which since 1300 had been selected for the installation of this typical local grape. The soils are characterized by white, calcareous lands, rich in freshness, able to give Arlandino aromas and structure.

2021 Burlotto Barbera d'Alba "Aves", Piedmont, Italy $50.99
Winemaker Notes:  In a relatively short period of time, the G.B. Burlotto winery has risen to a position of absolute prominence in the panorama of Italy’s best wineries. In fact, G.B. Burlotto’s wines were always recognized as being of very high quality, and have always been rather famous, but clearly the advent of Fabio Alessandria at the winemaking helm has helped catapult the winery to even greater fame.
G.B. Burlotto Barbera d'Alba Aves is a hand-selected Barbera wine crafted only in top vintages. With floral hints and juicy fruit vibrations, this powerful yet nuanced wine is perfect for a variety of cuisines, elevating your dining experience to new heights.
G.B. Burlotto Barbera d'Alba Aves showcases a powerful, yet refined profile. The deep, rich flavors are perfectly balanced with expressive energy, offering enticing floral notes and juicy fruit undertones. The warmth and complexity of this wine make it an extraordinary addition to any meal, transcending regional cuisine boundaries.
The versatility of G.B. Burlotto Barbera d'Alba Aves makes it a sublime choice for a wide range of dishes. Its robust flavors and balanced acidity pair well with savory meat dishes like roasted lamb or beef, hearty Italian pastas, and richly spiced stews. Its depth and fruitiness also complement creamy, earthy cheeses and charcuterie for a delectable appetizer or dessert course.
