NV Benito Escudero Cava Brut Nature, Rioja, Spain $25.99
100% Viura

Back in 1852, a young Juan Escudero started making wine in a cave dug out of the mountains near the small village of Grávalos. Now, four generations of Escuderos later, the family continue his legacy with a tireless effort and respect for tradition, nature and good wine.

Benito Escudero, who took over the reins in the 1950s, had travelled and worked in Bordeaux and Champagne and studied what made some of the great French houses tick. Returning home he followed the traditional method Champenoise and developed his own Cava before going on to be one of the founders of the D.O. Cava classification.

This Cava Brut Nature is made with 100% Viura grapes, grown in the foothills south of Monte Yerga at an altitude between 700-800 metres above sea level. The high altitude contributes to the wine having fresh and elegant aromas alongside a low alcohol content. The nose has a strong apple aroma with a touch of lemon while the well integrated bubbles and acid line holds the palate together.

NV Dioro Baco Rose Cava, Rioja, Spain $25.99
100% Pinot Noir

This deep-apricot-colored wine has a steady stream of effervescence that releases a bouquet of green apple, yellow cherry and sage leaf. It is round on the palate, with enticing mouthfeel and nectarine, gooseberry and cocoa butter flavors and a lingering hint of espresso bean. — Mike DeSimone

2020 Ricitelli "Hey Malbec", Mendoza, Argentina $19.99
The Hey Malbec! by Matias Riccitelli is a wine built for early consumption. It's an excellent example of fresh-faced Malbec that is near impossible to put down.

So many of the wines from this area are known for their almost brutish richness. Somehow this young winemaker gets all the flavour and power packed into the wine without excessive oak or alcohol.

It's a seriously delicious & approachable version of Malbec from the famous slopes of Mendoza.

2020 Maties Riccitelli "The Party" Malbec, Lujande, Mendoza, Argentina $25.99

This is an innovative style of Malbec from the Matias Riccitelli micro winery where they experiment with an array of techniques for coaxing the best expressions from Malbec grapes. This is a wine of great elegance! The Party 2020 Malbec is an opulent red, with lively floral character and great purity to the raspberry and plum fruit. It's vegan-friendly and produced with agro-ecological grapes sourced from the Uco Valley. Grapes were fermented in whole bunches and aged one year in concrete vessels. You can expect a bright and cheery red wine with fresh violets, cherry, blackberry, subtle spice, fine herbs and fine-grained, textured tannins. Lovely and easygoing. Drink or hold.*

Matías Riccitelli started his boutique winery in 2009, located in Las Compuertas at 1100 meters above sea level. It is the highest area of Lujan de Cuyo, and here he tends 20 hectares of ungrafted old vineyards.

2017 Bodega Calle "El Olvidado" Tempranillo, Cepillo, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina $26.99

Roughly half of Mendoza's population is of Spanish descent, and over the years a number of Tempranillo vines have been planted in the region. This bottling, from an heirloom quality parral style vineyard in Altamira, is packed with lush cherry and raspberry fruit. A long growing season, very cold nights and low yields helped create a wine that is extremely concentrated, parral vineyard. 70 year old vines.

Varietal: Tempranillo
Origin: Argentina | Appellation: Altamira
Elaboration: Fermented in concrete tanks and then aged 12 months with a combination of new and used American oak.

TASTING NOTES
“Medium color. Aromas and flavors of red fruit and herbs with a bright, dry light-to-medium body and a brisk finish with fruit tannins and a suggestions of oak. A simple red to serve with everyday fare.” – BTI, Beverage Testing Institute

2017 Bodega Calle "La Mano Dereche" Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, Cepillo, Uco Valley, Mendoza $
We've long loved the verve, minerality and ripe suppleness that Gualtallary offers to Cabernet Sauvignon fruit. This vineyard combined with fruit from Agrelo really makes this a stand out. Farmed organically.

Vintage: 2022 | Wine Type: Red Wine
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
Origin: Argentina | Appellation: Gualtallary, Uco Valley
Elaboration: Hand harvested grapes. Meticulously sorted and fermented in wide mouth concrete tanks. Aged with French oak for 12 months. Gravity flow winemaking.
Winemaker: Kirk Ermisch

TASTING NOTES
Ripe plums, chocolate, honey, and faint nutmeg make this a very interesting Cabernet. Medium to full-bodied palate has juicy fruit, fine-grained tannins and balsamic flavors in a finish mixing smoky notes and a fresh herbal touch.

2018 Ricitelli "Ricitelli & Father", Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina $69.99
Malbec 80%
Cabernet Franc 20%

A red blend of a great aromatic intensity, smelling of black fruits, licorice, spices and flowers on the nose. The palate shows a remarkable balance with firm but also elegant tannins. A red wine with personality that very well represents two generations of winemakers from Argentina who love what they are doing.

Riccitelli and Father arise after the joint work of Matias and his father Jorge Riccitelli. Matias and Jorge were seeking to enhance old vines Malbec of traditional areas with that same intensity that Cabernet Franc develops in our mountainous soils.

80% Malbec planted in 1927 from ungrafted vines in Las Compuertas, Lujan de Cuyo, over alluvial soil with 20% of Cabernet Franc coming from a vineyard in Chacayes, Uco Valley.

For its vinification we use only a little amount of whole bunches and the rest are destemmed. They get into get into small French oak vats. Fermentation goes on with wild yeast at a temperature from 26º to 28º C. During several weeks we carry out a gentle punch down with our hands in order to obtain a slow extraction. Aging continues in Foudres of 2000 litres for more than a year.
