2022 Famille Gueguen Bourgogne Aligote, Burgundy, France $22.99
Aligoté is often referred to as the other white grape of Burgundy (after Chardonnay). But it is garnishing more attention these days as a variety with notably crisp acidity.

One of the things I love about the Gueguen wines is their freshness which this Aligoté shares. It has appealing floral notes on the nose whilst the palate comes alive with lemon sherbert and green apple.

It's a deliciously, moreishly easy drinker.

The vineyard is located in the village of Saint-Bris, slightly south-west of Chablis. The vines are around 65 years old and they were planted for Cecile Gueguen's mother, Marie Louise (hence the name of the cuvée).

Serve this as an apperitif, with white meat, shellfish, fish sauce, ham, chicken, cheese, such as Epoisses, Langres.

2022 Charles Pere & Fils Bourgogne Blanc, Haut Cotes De Beaune, Burgundy, France $28.99
Charles Père et Fille, a family estate located in Nantoux, have been grape-growers and winemakers in Burgundy for several generations. However, it wasn't until 1960, when the domaine started estate-bottling its wines, that they began to make a name for themselves. Everything at the estate is top-notch, from the work in the vineyards to the cellar and beyond. The domaine consists of 14 hectares of vines, 10 in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune and the rest divided between Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Beaune. Pascal Charles and his daughter, Pauline, take extensive measures to ensure the highest quality of all their wines, and the results speak for themselves.

2023 Chateaumar Chateauneuf-Du-Pape Blanc, Rhone Valley, France $19.99
Blend: 95% Viognier 5% Grenache Blanc
Terrior: Clay-limestone soil with gravel.
Farming: High Environmental Value (HVE) 3 Certified
Aging: 5 months in stainless steel tanks

Castel Chateaumar estate, dates back to Roman times and has been stewarded by the Souret Family for three generations. Bright yellow hue, with aromas of ripe white and exotic fruits with floral notes. On palate this wine is round, fruity, with a delightful freshness that lingers around aromas of orchard fruits. Enjoy by itself or with all your light fare.

2021 Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur Bourgogne Rouge, Burgundy, France $37.99
Wine Notes: This 1.2 hectare parcel is from the lieu-dit “Petits Pres” which sits immediately beneath the village appellation “Volnay Les Pasquieres”. The vines were planted in three separate tranches: 1963, 1969 and 1970.
A committed classicist, Vincent Bitouzet has provided us with over thirty-years worth of structured, demanding, age-worthy, satisfying wines, both red and white, from the heart of the Cote de Beaune.Based in Volnay and blessed with extensive holdings in Meursault as well, this domaine is a tried and true standard bearer for all that is fundamentally good and sound in Burgundy: conscientious and sensitive work in the vineyards, respect above all for the specific character of each lieu-dit, patience and attention to detail in the cellar, and a commitment to producing wines of depth and, of critical importance, longevity.

2021 Domaine La Manarine Cotes Du Rhone Rouge, Rhone Valley, France $18.99
Created in 2001 by Gilles Gasq, and run with his wife Sylvie, Domaine La Manarine is a 45-acre estate located on a splendid plateau just northeast of Orange. His Côtes du Rhône is 100% Grenache from vines that are, on average, 45 years old; it is a nice, healthy, clean, earthy, juicy Côtes du Rhône with great acidity and light garrigue character.

2021 Chateau de Chaintres Saumur Champigny, Loire Valley, France $28.99
The Château de Chaintres itself is stunning: a mid-17th-century mansion that combines bucolic charm and gentle majesty in a manner quite particular to this part of the Loire. Les Sables is the estate’s primary cuvée of Cabernet Franc. The grapes are hand harvested and fully destemmed before fermenting with native yeasts in steel tanks.
