NV Pierre Sparr Cremant D'Alsace Brut Reserve, Alsace, France
Light yellow with green reflections and fine, glittering pearl beads; the nose offers aromas of galia melon, sweet woodruff and dried mango, with minerals and hints of nuts. The soft mousseux leaves a pleasant feeling on the palate, accompanied by a racy, powerful body and crisp, lemony acidity that brings freshness to this Crémant. With time in the glass, it opens further to a complex sparkling brut, finishing with a long aftertaste.

NV Pierre Sparr Cremant D'Alsace Brut Rose, Alsace, France
Salmon pink color with fresh aromas of soft red berries, predominantly strawberry and raspberry. On the palate, round and fruity with hints of peach. The flavors are intense, with lively acidity framed by a well-made structure and delicate bubbles. The finish is smooth, clean and dry.

2021 Peyrassol "La Croix" Mediterranee Rose, France
Beautiful pale pink in color, with distinct bluish hues. This expressive blend opens immediately with notes of small red fruits carried on a savory undertone of garrigue. There is a refreshing touch of greenness on the palate which gives this fresh, lively wine its truly thirst-quenching character.
Blend: 50% Cinsault, 40% Grenache, 8% Syrah, 2% Carignan

2020 Volpaia Chianti Classico, Tuscany, Italy
The vineyards of Volpaia are among the highest in Chianti. Their Chianti Classico is characterized by elegance and finesse with a rich bouquet of red fruits and spices.
Blend: 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot

JS93James Suckling
Black-cherry and orange-peel aromas and flavors. Some lead pencil and slate, too. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins and firm acidity, which adds verve and tension to the wine. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
WS92Wine Spectator
A bright, succulent style, this exudes cherry, strawberry, earth and tobacco aromas and flavors, with spicy character. Shows vibrant structure and balance, with a lingering finish. Sangiovese and Merlot. Best from 2023

2018 Castello Di Volpaia Chianti Classico Riserva, Tuscany, Italy
The Chianti Classico Riserva has a ruby-red hue with a trace of garnet. The nose is elegant, displaying hints of spice and fruit. This a well-structured wine with smooth tannins and a long finish.

D93Decanter
Produced since 1967, Volpaia’s Riserva is a selection of bunches from throughout the estate’s 43 hectares in the township of Radda. Due to the slow start in 2018, harvest began a few days later than average, taking place during the first two weeks of October. With purity and precision, strawberry, tobacco, vanilla and forest earth emerge from the glass. This is well-proportioned and balanced in ripeness with a core of concentrated red cherry. Fresh acidity props it up and smooth, rounded tannins frame the whole.

V93Vinous
The 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva is fabulous. There are more 'important' wines in the range, but the Riserva delivers superb quality for the money. Succulent dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice and cloves show a darker side of Sangiovese that is quite attractive. Ample and virile in feel, the 2018 has the stuffing to develop well for many years to come.

Forest floor, leather, pipe tobacco and baked plum aromas shape the nose. The full-bodied, polished palate exhibits dried cherry, licorice and espresso alongside tightly knit, smooth tannins and fresh acidity. Best After 2024.

WS92Wine Spectator
Marked by ripe, fresh black cherry and black currant fruit, this red is fleshy and bright, with eucalyptus, tobacco and earth accents adding detail as this winds down on the solidly built finish.

2015 Chateau Clarke "R" Baron Edmond de Rothschild, Bordeaux, France
Château Clarke 2015 is a beautiful crimson color with a deep purple rim. Both intense and complex, the nose displays fresh fruit aromas (black currant and black cherry) and elegant oak nuances, as well as hints of menthol and liquorice with aeration. The wine starts out round and straightforward and follows with rich, concentrated and velvety tannic texture along with beautiful acidity that provides balance and freshness.

Blend: 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon

This estate has belonged to the Edmond de Rothschild family since 1973. From one of the top performing properties in Listrac, this wine is well proportioned, rich and dense. It has weight but its main thrust is elegance, with stylish black-currant fruit, acidity and a dry core from the wood aging. The wine will age well and should not be drunk before 2023.
RP92Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2015 Clarke has an attractive blackberry and briary scented nose with just a hint of dark chocolate emanating from the new oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, the acidity nicely judged with fine tension on the cedar and tobacco-tinged finish. I appreciate the freshness and refinement demonstrated by this Château Clarke, a classic Listrac that should give 10-12 years of pleasure.
