NV Louise Chereau Vices & Vertus Orgueil Sparkling Rose, Loire Valley, France $22.99
As the voice of the new generation at the Chéreau Carré winery in France’s Loire Valley, Louise Chéreau is shaking things up by creating fresh new expressions of traditional grapes and terroirs with her new line called Vices & Vertus. In this spirit, she’s making a bottle-fermented direct-press sparkling rosé wine from her old estate-grown cabernet vines planted on decomposed granite soils in the commune of Château Thébaud in the Muscadet region. Fresh, crunchy, and playful: Orgueil Rosé is an essential Loire Valley sparkler.

Vinification – This sparkling wine is made entirely in-house using the méthode traditionelle. The cabernet grapes are hand harvested and directly pressed, with a short maceration. After alcoholic fermentation in underground cement tanks, the wine undergoes a secondary fermentation in bottle and is aged on the lees for fourteen months. The dosage of 7g/L (Brut) was chosen to accent the freshness and aromatics and was done with grape must from estate fruit. The grapes all come from the 2020 harvest. Disgorgement was done by hand at the winery on January 13, 2022.

2020 Chereau Carre Chateau L`Oiseliniere De La Ramee Muscadet, Loire Valley, France $16.99
"Château l'Oiselinière is a 10 hectare single vineyard overlooking the confluence of the Sèvre and Maine rivers. The color is a very pale yellow. There are very small bubbles, called "Perlant," that come from the Sur Lie vinification process. Citrus aromas of grapefruits and lemon skin on the nose. The wine is very fresh in mouth with bitter and citrus tones, well balanced with white flower and exotic fruit at the end. Pair with seafood in general but in particular oysters, sole meuniere." - Winemaker

2022 Do Ferreiro Albarino, Rias Baixas, Spain $32.99
Do Ferreiro Albariño is from vines that are 15-50 years old from various plots in Salnés grown on soils of granite and sand. All grapes were destemmed and fermented with native yeasts in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. In the glass the wine displays a brilliant light lemon color with a translucent green rim. The nose is enchanting with aromas of sea-spray, Ruby Red grapefruit, peaches and fresh herbs. The palate delivers unbelievable concentration, depth and length as all the complex mineral, fruit and herbal flavors grow build to a crescendo and monumental finish. After one sip, you'll understand why it is a reference for the varietal and the region. Enjoy with seafood: mussels, oysters, prawns, lobster and, of course, octopus.

2022 Ameztoi Red Txakolina Stimatum, Getariako Txakolina, Spain $25.99
Delightfully fresh and magenta hued red wine, with a slight effervescence. Loaded with wild strawberries and hints of violets, this juicy wine shines when served with a light chill.
Ameztoi is a renowned producer in Getariako Txakolina, respected for producing both traditional wines in large barrels and as an innovator for their rosé txakolina and méthode traditionnelle sparkling wines. Ameztoi owns twenty hectares of estate vineyards located in the most privileged position in the region, facing the Bay of Biscay. High in the vineyards, planted on the dramatic seaside cliffs of the ancient fishing village of Getaria, one can see the town of San Sebastian, which lies just twenty minutes away along a serpentine highway.

2020 Martúe Evolution Tempranillo, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain $15.99
Evolution is produced from estate-grown tempranillo grapes. Farming is sustainable, and the wines are made without any additions. Alcoholic fermentations are spontaneous with indigenous yeasts. The goal is to make wines with maximum character. Grapes are harvested at night as quickly as possible. As all of the vineyards closely surround the winery, the grapes are crushed and begin fermentation immediately. This is a testament to the great care taken by the team, and the results are felt in the quality of the finished wines, which are fresh, balanced, and delicious.
Martúe is one of the most exciting wineries to have emerged from the up-and-coming wine region of Castilla-La Mancha in central Spain, producing high-quality wines at accessible prices for everyday drinking. Martúe was the dream of Fausto Gonzalez, who planted vines in 1990 near La Guardia de Toledo, just southeast of the city of Toledo. In 2009 the estate earned the prestigious and rare designation of DO Pago Campo de La Guardia due to its location in a special enclave with complex soils at 850m elevation at the convergence of two tectonic plates near the Tagus River in central Spain.

2020 Ostatu Rioja Crianza, Rioja, Spain $22.99
The Ostatu Rioja Crianza is a blend of 90% Tempranillo with the rest a mix of Graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha from vines planted between 1964 to 1989 in 6 vineyards around the village of Samaniego at an altitude of 580 meters. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel — some undergo whole-bunch, partial carbonic fermentatoin, others are destemmed and fermented with native yeasts — then aged for 12 months in 225 liter French oak barrels, bottled without stabilization. This is a fresh, fruit-driven Rioja with incredible energy and life; a reflection of some of the most prized terruño in the Alavesa and a great introduction to the wines of this top-tier producer.
